AI Settings

Open Chatbot → AI Settings to connect an AI provider, save your key and model, control how replies sound and behave, confirm the key works with the provider, and test the assistant in the playground before it goes live on your site.

Supported providers

You can use models from any of these services:

  • OpenAI
  • Google Gemini
  • Claude (Anthropic)
  • DeepSeek
  • Grok (xAI)
  • OpenRouter

Connect your provider

  • In the WordPress admin, go to Chatbot → AI Settings.
  • Select the provider you use.
  • Paste your API key.
  • Pick a model or keep the suggested default.
  • Click Save. When you are ready to style the widget, continue to the Appearance tab.

Test API key

After you have chosen a provider and pasted your API key, click Test API key to confirm the provider accepts the key and your setup can reach their API.

AI instructions

The AI instructions field sets global guidance for the model: general role, tone, boundaries, and any rules that apply to every reply (for example, topics to avoid or how to represent your brand).

To discard edits and restore the built-in template, use Reset to default above the textarea.

Playground

Turn on Playground next to the AI Settings heading to open the chatbot playground on the same screen. You can chat with the agent right away and see how it answers with your current provider, model, and instructions.
